Workshops

  • 2027 (planned) Roundtable on “Global Cleavages: The Shape of Political Conflict across World Regions in Historical Perspective” at the International Political Science Association, July 24-28, Rome.
  • 2027 Workshop on “From Global Politics to Global Governance: The Politicization of Supranational Institutions” aimed at practitioners to secure the transfer of knowledge to global-governance institutions and open up the debate in the public sphere, leading to an edited volume.
  • 2026 Workshop on “Global Cleavages: Assessing Progress and Planning Next Steps”, June 11-12, European University Institute, Florence. During the first three years progress was made on the data collection and the initial analysis, as well as a number of papers that are now in draft form. In addition, results have been presented in a number of conferences and invited talks. This second intermediary internal workshop toward the end of year 3 of the funding period aims at getting feedback on the draft papers and plan the next two years.
  • 2025 Workshop on “Global Cleavages: Assessing Progress and Planning Next Steps”, May 5-6, European University Institute, Florence. An internal workshop to assess progress in the various work packages and increase coordination between them to standardize concepts and measurements, avoid overlaps, and homogenize the presentation of results, as well as plan submissions, conference attendance and research assistance.

  • 2024 Workshop on “Global Cleavages: A New Research Agenda for International Politics”, September 26-27, European University Institute, Florence. A scientific kick-off workshop aimed at an academic audience leading to journal special issue or symposium of a disciplinary journal to develop an international network of collaboration and find.

GLOBAL organises workshop and panels at the major international conferences, such as the annual conferences of the European Consortium for Political Research, the International Studies Association, the International Political Science Association, among others.
